The day is approaching: don't be scared. Be informed!
Unofficial and Official Results
1) If your board of nursing participates in the Quick Results Service, you can receive your “unofficial” results 48 business hours after the exam. This service is available for $7.95 on the Pearson VUE NCLEX Candidate website.
2) Another way to check on unofficial results is going to Continental Testing 24 hours after the exam and selecting:
Official results are ONLY available through your board of nursing/regulatory body (BON/RB) and will be sent to you approximately six weeks after the exam. Do NOT call NCSBN, Pearson VUE NCLEX Candidate Services or the test center for results.
WHEN YOU PASS, LET US KNOW! Email Vickie Thornley so the university can track this for accreditation, but also celebrate with you!
AFTER PASSING: After you pass the NCLEX, you will need to register your license with the State of Illinois!
A few days after your unofficial scores are available, Continental Testing will send you a letter in the mail confirming your scores. You need to fill out the bottom half of the sheet and mail it to the state with a $50 check. Be sure to include your most updated email (don't forget that your Oak Point email expires 6 months after graduation!). You will be sent your license electronically!
Go here for more in-depth information about registering your license with the State of Illinois.
The $50.00 check or money order needs to be sent to: (Note: the fee is $75 if you need a temporary permit!)

For Those Who Do Not Pass
If you didn't pass the exam, you'll receive a NCLEX Candidate Performance Report (CPR). The CPR is an individualized document that shows how a candidate performed in each of the test plan content areas. Candidates who fail the exam can use the CPR as a guide to prepare them to retake the exam.
RETAKING THE NCLEX
Do the following if choosing to retake the NCLEX:
When you take care of your body, you take care of your mind.
Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how "power posing" -- standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don't feel confident -- can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success. (Note: Some of the findings presented in this talk have been referenced in an ongoing debate among social scientists about robustness and reproducibility.)
