ATI Procedure

ATI Content Mastery Program

Proper use of the ATI Content Mastery Program helps to predict student success on the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.

Procedure – Summer Semester 2020

Students will complete one practice exam and one mastery exam. Both exams are proctored.

  • The practice exam (Practice Exam A) is a timed practice assessment during normal class time in week 5 (of a 7-week course) or week 12 (of a 15-week course). Following the completion of Practice Exam A, the student completes a focused review (1-hour minimum) and a learning improvement assignment (3 Critical Points) designed to strengthen their knowledge and learning based on the original and specific practice exam results.
  • The mastery exam (“Proctored Exam”) is scheduled for week 6 (of a 7-week course) or week 14 (of a 15- week course). The course syllabus and/or calendar will specify the date and time for the exam.

ATI Content Mastery Program Scoring

The ATI Content Mastery Program is worth a total of 10 points and 10% of the course grade. Refer to the point breakdown below.

Part I: Practice Exam & Learning Improvement = 4 Points Total

Students will earn all four points for Part I if they:

  • Take Practice Exam A on the day and time identified in the course calendar
  • Spend a minimum 1-hour in Focused Review, as reported in the ATI Focused Review transcript on the first proctored attempt.
  • Complete 3 Critical Points (Learning Improvement) for each topic missed from the score report after Practice Exam A.
  • Submit the learning improvement as directed by the instructor; this is the ticket to entry for the Proctored Exam

Part II: Proctored Exam = 6 Points Total

Students can earn up to six points, based on the level they achieve on the proctored exam.
