24/7 Online Writing Support through TutorMe

What is TutorMe?

·        TutorMe provides complimentary 24/7 online writing support to all students, whether an online or on-ground student!

·        TutorMe has a network of over 10,000 verified tutors ready to help with any writing question, no matter how big or small.  The average time to connect with a tutor is 18.2 seconds but can vary depending on time of day.

·        TutorMe uses state-of-the-art lesson space which includes audio/video chat, screen sharing, virtual whiteboard, text editor and more.

How do Students Connect with Tutors?

Through Brightspace, students can click the TutorMe link on the top section of the page.

Once you’ve done that, TutorMe will automatically create an account for you and take you to a screen that looks like this:

From here, students will click “Connect with a Tutor” to be taken to the Main TutorMe page.

The next step is to tell TutorMe the type of support you need.  Students should type “Writing” in the search bar and avoid things like “Research” as this is NOT just Nursing specific tutors!

At the next screen students can attach any relevant documents they would like a tutor to review as well as a rubric to aid in the tutor’s understanding of the assignment.

After typing their concerns and attaching any relevant documents, students will be sent to a virtual waiting area where they can view their tutor’s credentials and area(s) of expertise prior to entering the Virtual Tutoring Center.  At this time, if students would like to be paired with a different tutor, they can do so!

Once they are ready to begin the lesson, they may click “Begin Lesson”.  They will then be taken to the virtual lesson space when they can use video, audio, or just text to communicate with their tutor and receive their writing support.
